While others are well-versed at browsing online, there are some people who need guidance. Though I consider myself knowledgeable in using a computer, there are other things I need assistance with.

I even kept on asking my friend the first time I accessed the SSS website. Thus, I want to help others in finding the easiest and fastest way of doing things such as accessing SSS online services.

Steps on How to Create SSS Online Account


Here are the steps to creating an SSS online account.

Step 1


Open your web browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox. 

Visit the SSS website by typing or clicking the link  https://www.sss.gov.ph/ on the address bar. It is a rectangular box located on the above portion of your web browser.

If you are using the latest version of Microsoft Edge, you will usually see a magnifying glass object with a word that says "Search or enter Web Address".

Press ENTER after typing in the web address given above. It will then route you to the Social Security System website and will show you the log-in box.

Step 2


Since you do not have an online account yet, you have to register to "My.SSS" first before you can log in.

You are given two options: Member Login and Employer Login. Make sure that the Member Login is the one selected. Its background color should be blue and not gray. Find and click the "Click Here" button on the lower portion of the log-in box.

Step 3


Select the choices presented to you. You can select on Savings Account Number, Mobile Number Registered in SSS, UMID Card, Employer ID Number and Payment Reference Number (PRN). 

The choices presented were the data you answered to SSS when you first register as a member. Make sure that you have all the needed information. Else, you can't continue with the registration.

The choices are actually a sort of validation of the information to prove that you are the member or an authorized representative.

In my case, I selected the Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) Card as it is the only thing I do have.

I was not certain what mobile number I provided to SSS when I first registered with them. I do not have a Savings Account Number and Payment Reference Number. I also do not have access to my Employer ID Number.

All of the five choices need the CRN/SS Number. But the good thing with UMID Card is that you have an option to either enter the UMID Card Pin Code which must be activated in the SSS Information Terminal located at SSS branches or your Mother's Maiden Name.

Step 4


Supply the needed basic information. Make sure that you take note of your preferred User ID and that you have access to the email address you provided as an activation link will be sent to your email. Don't forget to tick on the "I accept the Terms of Service" box on the lower portion of the page. 

Step 5


Hit on the "Submit" button which will be the indication that you have filled out the required fields, the ones with an asterisk (). 

A message box will then appear telling you that you have successfully submitted your account registration application. If the registration is successful, you will be given a link to activate your account. Otherwise, you will be informed of the reasons and will be given further instructions.

Step 6


Lastly, check your email for the system notification after 30 minutes. Click the link given in order to activate your account. 

You will then be routed to a page to create your password. Once you have your password, you can then log in to the SSS website and access their online services.
